Machine learning provides the underlying oomph to many of Google’s most-loved applications. In fact, more than 100 teams are currently using machine learning at Google today, from Street View, to Inbox Smart Reply, to voice search.
Google Cloud Platform gets a performance boost today with the much anticipated public beta of NVIDIA Tesla K80 GPUs . You can now spin up NVIDIA GPU-based VMs in three GCP regions: us-east1, asia-east1 and europe-west1, using the gcloud command-line tool. Support for creating GPU VMs using the Cloud Console appears…
Many Google products (e.g., the Google Assistant, Search, Maps) come with built-in high-quality text-to-speech synthesis that produces natural sounding speech. Developers have been telling us they’d like to add text-to-speech to their own applications, so today we’re bringing this technology to Google Cloud Platform…
CPU-based machines in the cloud are terrific for general purpose computing, but certain tasks such as rendering or large-scale simulations are much faster on specialized processors. Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) contain hundreds of times as many computational cores as CPUs and are great at accelerating risk…
Starting today, Cloud TPUs are available in beta on Google Cloud to help machine learning (ML) experts train and run their ML models more quickly.
In May 2015, Google Cloud introduced Preemptible VM instances to dramatically change how you think about (and pay for) computational resources for high-throughput batch computing, machine learning, scientific and technical workloads. Then last year, we introduced lower pricing for Local SSDs attached to Preemptible…
Following our announcements from GCP NEXT in March, we’re excited to share updates about Cloud Platform expansion and machine learning . Today we’re launching two new Machine Learning APIs into open beta and expanding our footprint in the United States.
Protecting data is the number one consideration when running workloads in the cloud. While cloud infrastructures offer numerous security controls, some enterprises want additional verifiable isolation for their most sensitive workloads—capabilities which have become known as confidential computing. Today we’re excited…
We’re releasing a study that shares new details on our Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) custom chips which have been running machine learning applications in our data centers since 2015.
NVIDIA Tesla V100 GPUs are now available in beta on Compute Engine and GKE, and NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPUs are now GA.
